Laissez les bon temps rouler!

French for "let the good times roll," the phrase is more than apropos for Mardi Gras, one of my favorite holidays (second only to Halloween.) Mardi Gras is basically the biggest, wildest street party ever. And who doesn't love a party? I've been to Mardi Gras twice — both times when I was in high school and my mom conveniently lived in New Orleans.

And while I'd love to go back now that I'm (far) over 21, I'll have to settle for dressing in the official colors of Fat Tuesday today: purple, gold and green.

Left: Oh, hey! Look, snow! Right: Oh, hey! Look, new hair!   What I'm wearing: thrifted vintage gold striped blouse, H&M skirt, American Apparel leggings , thrifted Antonio Melani shoes, necklace from Nordstrom Rack.

And here are a few more pics of Mardi Gras mayhem from my travels to N'awlins. Forgive the quality; they're scans of actual photos circa 1998.

So young and innocent. Before Mardi Gras corrupted my soul!
