Solstice Style

An excuse to dress up and a great band? I'm there! Needless to say, when a last-minute ticket to long-sold-out Solstice surfaced, I had to snag it. Not only was one of my current favorite bands playing (modern disco band, Escort), the Cleveland Museum of Art's crazy-popular annual summer kick-off party was the perfect opportunity to wear this:

So prim and proper. BAHAHAHA... What I'm wearing: Red lace dress by American Apparel , black shift dress (worn underneath) from H&M , shoes from Aldo , vintage thrifted belt, leather & chain bracelet from Nordstrom Rack , my favorite ear jackets from Target , rose gold bone necklace from Wildfox Couture .

Inspired by last week's binge-watching of the 5th season of Game of Thrones, I paired the red dress with gold accessories (the colors of House Lannister), including a gold belt that fittingly looks like dragon scales.

Don't tell the Lannisters I'm posing with House Tyrell's sigil.

The party was rad. Around 6,000 well-dressed Clevelanders were in attendance. Escort didn't disappoint, with the 17-member band playing infectious party music until late. Unfortunately, I didn't get too many pics of Solstice itself since it was dark outside and hard to take pics while dancing. At least not without spilling my gin and tonic. I'll definitely try to score tickets next year, maybe for the earlier entrance so I can explore the galleries too.

Pardon my ridiculous grin, but do check out those curls! Curling the tiny amount of hair on my head is one of my favorite pastimes lately.

A whole lotta people watching Escort at Solstice. Those balloon formations were hats!

Side Note: I'm a big fan of when blogs include a brief list at the end of a post. Sometimes a round-up of links on Friday or simply a glimpse into what the blogger is currently interested in. I find that extra personal touch to be interesting, so I decided to give it a try.

My current obsessions:

Wearing This Unicorn Tank from Target is part of the Pride collection. The whole collection is pretty great though, so you should check it out.

Buying Speaking of Pride, I'll be wearing this amazing Sephora holographic rainbow nail polish for Pride Fest this weekend. It doesn't seem to be available online, but you can buy it in-store.

Watching You guessed it! Game of Thrones season 5. Finally.

Reading Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman. You guys know he's coming to town in October, right?

Listening Those Darlins have an upbeat, summery sound without being too cloying. I saw them open for Best Coast a few years ago and they were great live too.
